Small and Large Grants

Funding area: John Templeton's Natural Sciences department will be seeking proposals related to the following priorities: Intellectual Humility, Mathematics & Physical Sciences, Science of Purpose, and Cultural Evolution. The department seeks to support projects that address Big Questions concerning the origin and nature of the universe and humankind’s place in it. High risk projects that promise substantial rewards are especially encouraged, as are projects unlikely to be supported by standard funding agencies. The grant duration is often up to three years. In rare instances the Foundation may support a project for up to five years.

Eligible Costs: The Foundation allows for an overhead/indirect cost component within the budget, which is no more than fifteen percent (15%).

Applicant Eligibility:

Grant size: Small Grants are defined as requests for 234.800 USD or less. Large Grants are defined as requests for more than 234.800 USD.

The Villum Foundation

Villum Investigators (Expected - call not yet published)

Funding area: The aim of VILLUM Investigator Programme is to support researchers who have the potential to make significant contributions to technical and natural sciences. It is expected that the VILLUM Investigators identify and pursue significant research questions and that they push their chosen research fields and/or methods into new areas of investigations.

Eligible Costs: Salary, apparatus, running costs, travel.

Applicant Eligibility: Applicants to the VILLUM Investigator Programme are expected to be active researchers who have a track record of significant and excellent research achievements in the last 10 years.

Grant size: Applicants may apply for up to DKK 40 million for a period of six years, including a 15% overhead to the host institution.
